Earth Day!

Tomorrow is the day that our Tree Huggers take control of our thoughts! The official Earth Day is a day to get out and plant a tree, help the planet, and keep the world green! I hope that everyone has something planned to make the world one step closer to being a much cleaner place! For me, tomorrow will be rainy! How else can you conserve water? Not use it to water your lawn!

Some ideas for Earth Day:
  • Plant a tree
  • Recycle a bunch of items
  • Change your light bulbs to more energy efficient ones
  • Clean up the local park
  • Stay outside all day
  • Promote a cleaner environment and join an environmentally aware club

Enjoy your Earth Day and make a change for the better!

March 26

Do any of you know what day today is? I'll give you a hint. This blog is partially based off of it. It's Earth Hour if you still couldn't figure that out! Earth Hour has been celebrated by millions of people making the pledge to help make our world a better place. This year, let's see how many can take the pledge to turn off all power for a full hour! Earth Hour is a day where you shut down all power for one full hour! Can you do it to save the Earth?

New Music Blog

I am looking into making another blog that will focus on songs and music, new and older, and almost all styles of music. I am currently running a survey on what URL it should be. Be sure to vote on your favorite! If you also have a new idea for a title, be sure to comment on what it should be. If a comment is sent, I will check to see if it would work. If it could work, I'll add it to the survey. If a comment suggestion wins, I will be sure to have my first post dedicated to the one who commented it. The new blog will launch next year after the survey ends, so if you have an idea make sure to send it in and vote!

Cold Winters and Less Snow?

Record breaking snowfalls hit the D.C. metropolitan area last year. The Farmer's Almanac predicted that last year. If we compare the weather from last year to this year, we look like we are on the track to another good amount of snow. But, the Farmer's Almanac says that this year will have less snow then average for most of the country. The temperatures this winter should also be around average, so can we hope that the almanac is wrong? I think we shouldn't get our hopes up. Snowfalls like that only happen once every many years. The Snopocalypse last year was a huge change for this area. We have never seen that much snow in our area. When people start talking, many hopes are made in kids heart. Then when reality strikes, it's like a stab in the heart. I think we should accept that snowfalls this year will be significantly lower then last year. What does Christmas look like? The 2010 Christmas is shaping up to be a disappointment. The chances of at least one inch on the ground when we wake up on the 25th of December are around 10% for the Metropolitan area. I am very disappointed by this prediction, so I am looking for another Christmas miracle to happen and see another beautiful Christmas. So yes, there will be a cold winter and less snow unless mother nature decided to throw a curve-ball in our direction.

Earth Day

What are you doing on Earth Day? Are you going to watch T.V.? If yes, then wake up! We are going to celebrate this year's Earth by giving the Earth a break. If we all turn off the lights for one hour, then we can let the Earth take a deep breath. Submit any ideas that you may have to help our Earth take a breath on Earth day. Plant a tree, turn off the electronics that are plugged into the outlets, collect trash off the street and parks, and TURN OFF THE LIGHTS! If you do decide to let OUR Earth breath for a hour, then please leave your name and when on Earth Day you did it in the comments. I also want anything that you have done for our Earth on Earth Day. My goal is to get more then 50 people participate in this event on Earth Day. I know that Earth Hour has past, but it's Earth Day for crying out loud! Earth Hour should be on Earth Day. Sorry, just had to mention it. Please send in the things you have done or if you participate in the second Earth hour of the year.
